The Chaining Mineral Title Essentials Course is a MUST for all landmen, including oil and gas lease agents.

Most landmen, or oil and gas lease agents, do not have a vast amount of experience when it comes to completely understanding how to thoroughly chain mineral title, and it can take years to become efficient at it. This course will discuss several key and critical issues in great detail regarding this subject.

In each chapter we will get into many facets of the title of that chapter (see syllabus below) as you will see from some of the following highlights.

This course has been recently updated and expanded, and is the most comprehensive discussion on this subject matter we have created to date. It also allows the student to actually chain mineral title at the end on 640 acres in Oklahoma.

A Two-in-One Learning Experience

To better understand how to effectively chain mineral title, this course is set up in two stages:

First: we are going to go through the essential academics of understanding property ownership instruments that effect real property and overall information as it pertains to chaining mineral title.

Second: The course progresses into the actual chaining mineral title portion- the online Chain of Title Workshop, which makes up the vocational portion of the course.

The Chain of Mineral Title Workshop allows you to utilize what you have learned in this academic portion of the course and actually Chain Mineral Title from scanned courthouse documents, create a work/run sheet and create a complete Mineral Title Ownership Report covering minerals in a 640-acre tract of land in Oklahoma.

The end result is now you will have a sample of your work for your resume!

The oil and gas business is experiencing times seldom experienced in its history.

With the recent fluctuation in prices of oil and natural gas and the emergence of alternative sources (such as Wind Energy), Landman Practices are becoming more diversified and require an expanding education base.

Most of the publications relating to land work have been out of print for many years and there has not been sufficient demand to revise them or to have a school such as ours until the last few years.

After finishing your class in August and now it being the first of October, I actually got a job last week working full time for a landman in Santa Fe handling federal leases.   I will tell you that they say what I learned in your class puts me ahead of the game so it was time and money well spent.

Dear David,

Thank you for the truly informative course held last September.
I have completed my first year as an in-house landman for a petroleum company and can’t imagine how I could have achieved it without your excellent tutelage.
